I hear the word ‘targeting’ in the media these days. It seems there are two different meanings of the term, and the media are confusing the two.

In Gaza, Israel’s IDF thought they had intelligence that an aid convoy was harboring Hamas terrorists. They therefore ‘targeted’ that convoy. The strike was intentional and there was no mistake in what they were hitting. They knew exactly what they were doing.

On the other hand, the media are using the term ‘targeting’ to claim that the IDF was intentionally trying to kill civilians. There is no evidence of this, and I don’t believe that the IDF could be so stupid as to alienate the entire world in this way.
